Case filed against Liton, Badsha for vandalizing Rajshahi BNP office

A case against 621 people, including former

mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) AHM Khairuzzaman liton and former

lawmaker Fazley Hossain Badsha, was filed on charges of their alleged

involvement in vandalizing BNP office here last night.

Bazlur Rahman Montu, city unit joint convener of the BNP, lodged the case

with Boalia Model Police Station mentioning names of 231 leaders and workers

of Bangladesh Awami League (AL) and Bangladesh’s Workers Party (BWP).

Besides, 400 other unnamed people were accused in the case.

In his petition, Bazlur Rahman said a large number of leaders and workers of

AL and BWP, led by Liton and Badsha, equipped with firearms and lethal

weapons attacked the city unit BNP office in Malopara area and vandalized and

looted it badly on July 19 last.

They also created panics through blasting hand bombs.

SM Masud Parvej, officer-in-charge (OC) of Boalia Police Station, said they

recorded the case and Sub-inspector (SI) Sohel Rana was given responsibility

to investigate th
e case.

Necessary action will be taken after investigation, he added.
