Khulna: Secretary at the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Mahbuba Farzana, today emphasized the need for self-purification in the wake of the July uprising, urging public officials to perform their duties with honesty and impartiality. "We are standing on the blood of our children who sacrificed their lives during the anti-discrimination movement. After the July uprising, it is time for self-purification. Keeping this in mind, we must perform our government duties with integrity and neutrality," she stated during an exchange of views with officials at the conference room of Bangladesh Betar's Khulna center.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Farzana highlighted the necessity of institutional responsibility, urging officials to view their workplaces as their own to naturally foster integrity and sincerity in their duties. She underscored the importance of open communication, mutual respect, and countering misinformation, stressing that Betar could play a crucial role in preventing misinformation among marginalized communities.
Earlier, the Secretary conducted a meeting at the Khulna Circuit House with officials from various departments under the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. She emphasized enhancing the quality of programs aired on Bangladesh Television (BTV) and Bangladesh Betar, acknowledging their historical significance. Furthermore, she advocated for modern training, including ICT, for employees to ensure their effectiveness and relevance.
Bangladesh Betar Director General ASM Jahid, Chief Engineer (acting) Munir Ahmed, Project Director of the Modern Information Complex Munshi Jalal Uddin, Betar Director Md. Bashir Uddin, Khulna Regional News Controller Md. Nurul Islam, Regional Director (acting) Md. Shamim Hossain, Regional Engineer Md. Motakabbir Karim Khan, Additional Director (Admin and Finance) Syed Zahidul Islam, and other officials attended the meeting.
