Dhaka: The Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of Bangladesh, Md. Nurul Islam, visited various Defence Accounts offices at Dhaka Cantonment today to review the progress of military pension and other service-related activities. The visit focused on ensuring the efficiency and effectiveness of services provided to military personnel and pensioners.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the CAG inspected the offices of the Senior Finance Controller (Army), Finance Controller (Army) Log Area, Additional Chief Controller of Defence Finance, and the Chief Controller of Defence Finance (Pension and Fund). The purpose of the visit was to assess the progress of military pension services and related administrative activities.
An Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Directorate release mentioned that the CAG instructed officials to ensure proper implementation of the Government Employees (Regular Attendance) Rules 2019. Additionally, he emphasized the need for guaranteeing smooth service delivery to all recipients, particularly pensioners, ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Fitr.
The Controller General Defence Finance, the Senior Finance Controller (Army), and the heads of the respective offices were present during the inspection, highlighting the importance of the visit in improving service delivery within the Defence Accounts offices.
