Dhaka: The Cabinet Committee on Public Procurement has approved a proposal to procure 10.69 crore units of Anti-TB Drug (2FDC) through an open tender method. This decision was made during a meeting held at the Secretariat, presided over by Finance Minister Amir Khosru Mahmud Chowdhury.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the Health Services Division presented the proposal at the meeting. The approved procurement involves acquiring 10,69,80,000 units of the anti-tuberculosis medication at a total cost of Tk 74.35 crore. The committee's decision also includes awarding the contract to Renata PLC.
Officials mentioned that this procurement is intended to ensure a steady supply of anti-tuberculosis medicines, which is a crucial component of the government's TB control programme.
