New york: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today urged young people to build three zero clubs aiming to change the world. “I speak of a world of ‘three zeros’: Zero Net Carbon Emissions, Zero Wealth Concentration to End Poverty and Zero Unemployment by unleashing creativity in all,” he said while delivering his Keynote Speech at a UN High Level Side Event on Social Business, Youth and Technology at UN Headquarters here.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prof Yunus also emphasised the Zero Waste initiative and called for supporting the UN Secretary General’s “zero waste initiative”. He encouraged young people to form 3-Zero Clubs, which are spaces where individuals strive to become 3-Zero people. These individuals commit to living sustainably, minimising waste, and embracing social entrepreneurship, aiming to contribute nothing to global warming, wealth inequality, or unemployment.

Prof Yunus expressed that as more people join this movement, these clubs could expand into 3-Zero families, villages, and eventually, cities, leading to a 3-Zero world. “It starts with a single step. But together, those steps can change the world,” he added. He has always believed that the forum is a place for inspiration rather than just speeches.

In his speech, Prof Yunus highlighted the potential for true transformation through unity, especially in turbulent times. He urged the audience to become architects of a new wave, envisioning a world built on justice, sustainability, and hope. He concluded by asserting that collective dreams could ignite a new dawn for all of humanity.
