Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus today urged all hajj pilgrims to use the mobile app ‘Labbaik’, developed to facilitate hajj services for them. ‘This app will play a great role in ensuring that pilgrims can perform their religious practices smoothly,’ he said while inaugurating the newly introduced app at the State Guest House Jamuna here.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the ‘Labbaik’ app was developed for the first time in the country under government management. Speaking on the occasion, Prof Yunus emphasized the app’s utility for hajj pilgrims in performing their religious practices and highlighted its various features, including health services. He noted that this app would contribute significantly to performing hajj with devotion.
To make the hajj pilgrimage easier, the Chief Adviser directed the authorities concerned to upgrade the app further, enabling Muslims to use this app from the planning stage of hajj from next year, although it is available from the beginning of hajj this year. He mentioned plans to learn from countries with advanced hajj management and provide technical support to countries lacking such systems to develop a similar app.
Prof Yunus also suggested making the app easier and error-free in the future. In addition to facilitating religious practices, the Chief Adviser mentioned that the app would help hajj pilgrims travel in Saudi Arabia without any worries. He expressed gratitude to all involved in developing the app.
Alongside this app, Prof Yunus inaugurated a hajj prepaid card and hajj roaming package facilities on the occasion. Religious Affairs Adviser Dr. AFM Khalid Hossain, Cultural Affairs Adviser Mostofa Sarwar Farooki, and Chief Adviser’s Special Assistant Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb were among others present.
