Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has extended his heartfelt greetings to the people of the country and to Muslims around the world on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan. In a message today, he said the month of Ramadan is a month of self-restraint, sacrifice, compassion, and self-purification.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prof Yunus emphasized that through fasting, charity, and worship in this blessed month, individuals attain spiritual purification while fostering mutual empathy and harmony among all. He highlighted the importance of seeking the pleasure, closeness, and forgiveness of Almighty Allah during this time.
Prof Yunus further elaborated that the holy month of Ramadan inspires people, both personally and nationally, to avoid injustice, corruption, and wrongdoing, aiming to establish a society based on justice and welfare. This month, he noted, teaches morality and humanity through the practice of truthfulness, integrity, fairness, and mutual compassion, and it awakens a sense of responsibility toward the poor and deprived.
He urged individuals to renounce luxury, violence, and hatred, advocating for a focus on worship, recitation of the Holy Qur’an, prayers, repentance, and good deeds in pursuit of the pleasure of Almighty Allah. He encouraged preserving the sanctity of Ramadan through these actions.
Prof Yunus concluded his message with prayers for Almighty Allah to accept fasting, prayers, charity, and all righteous deeds, granting people the ability to implement the teachings of Ramadan in their lives. He also prayed for forgiveness, protection, and the prosperity of the country and the nation.
