Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has extended his greetings to Muslims in Bangladesh and around the world on the occasion of the holy Shab-e-Barat, the night of fortune, which will be observed tomorrow night. In a message issued today, Prof Yunus expressed his well-wishes to the Muslim community, emphasizing the significance of this sacred night.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Prof Yunus highlighted that Muslims observe the night between the 14th and 15th of the Hijri month of Shaban as Shab-e-Barat. He noted the night as an opportunity for mercy, forgiveness, and spiritual purification, citing Hadith that Allah grants forgiveness to His servants on this auspicious night.
Prof Yunus emphasized the importance of prayer and charity during Shab-e-Barat, pointing out that Muslims can seek closeness to Allah and ask for forgiveness. He encouraged self-reflection and remorse as means to attain Allah’s grace, blessings, and forgiveness, urging individuals to align their lives with righteousness and strive for purification from sins.
In his message, Prof Yunus called on everyone to seize the opportunity of Shab-e-Barat to seek Allah’s mercy, pray for the welfare of the nation, and commit to the service of humanity. He advocated for illuminating personal, social, and national life with the teachings of Islam, the religion of peace, by abandoning injustice, lawlessness, and superstition.
The chief adviser concluded with a prayer for forgiveness and protection for all, invoking Almighty Allah’s blessings.
