Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has expressed condolences to Sri Lankan President Anura Kumara Dissanayake following the loss of lives and devastation caused by 'Cyclone Ditwah', one of the worst weather-related disasters to hit the island nation in recent years.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Professor Yunus conveyed his sympathies through an official message released by the Chief Adviser's Press Wing. In his message, he expressed his deep sorrow over the tragedy and extended condolences on behalf of the people and the Government of Bangladesh. The Chief Adviser also offered thoughts and prayers for the victims and wished a speedy recovery for those injured.
Professor Yunus highlighted that Bangladesh stands in solidarity with Sri Lanka during this difficult time. He assured that Bangladesh is prepared to offer any necessary support or assistance, including cooperation in flood management, search and rescue operations, medical assistance, and other humanitarian needs. The message concluded with Professor Yunus extending assurances of his highest consideration to the Sri Lankan President.
