Dhaka: Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus has urged the Land Ministry, Commerce Ministry, National Board of Revenue (NBR), and Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTA) to prioritize the digitization of their daily operations and public services.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the Chief Adviser has instructed his Special Assistant, Faiz Ahmad Taiyeb, to take necessary steps to achieve this goal. The directive includes automating internal procedures within the ministries, ensuring full utilization of electronic files, implementing enterprise resource planning, and adopting a digital signature system.

Prof Yunus emphasized the importance of data interoperability among ministries to enhance service facilitation. He has also instructed relevant authorities to prioritize secure API-based data exchange over traditional manual form processes, aligning with modern data interoperability and exchange standards.

Special Assistant Taiyeb highlighted the current situation where ministries have developed isolated digital systems, creating silos. He stressed the government’s urgent responsibility to ensure interoperability among these systems. Following the Chief Adviser’s directives, efforts will be made to initiate pilot programs in major ministries within the next three months.
