Business Leaders Pledge to Stand Beside RCC for Rajshahi’s Development

Rajshahi: The leaders of Rajshahi Byabosayi Oikya Parishad (Business Unity Council) paid a courtesy call and held an exchange of views meeting with Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) Administrator Mahfuzur Rahman Riton. The meeting was held at Nagar Bhaban this afternoon. At that time, the leaders of the Business Unity Council expressed their commitment to stand by the RCC Administrator for the development of Rajshahi.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the exchange of views, the business representatives raised issues including freeing footpaths from encroachment and various problems faced by different markets in the city. The RCC Administrator assured them of quick resolution of the existing problems of the markets. He emphasized the responsibility given by Prime Minister Tarique Rahman to advance the civic service institution with sincerity, highlighting the need for everyone's cooperation to further develop and beautify the city.

Initiatives must be taken to rehabilitate footpath traders to ensure unhindered movement of citizens. The RCC Administrator mentioned the progress of construction work at Shalbagan and Naodapara kitchen markets, and the completion of another market in Lakshmipur. These developments aim to facilitate easier business operations for traders.

He further outlined ongoing and future projects, including the construction of a park for senior citizens, development of the Central Park and Zoo, Shaheed Zia Shishu Park, road widening from Golgafur to Fire Service intersection, and construction from Alif Lam Bhata intersection to Kashiadanga. Additionally, the city is focusing on building playgrounds, a modern slaughterhouse, and implementing modern waste management systems.

Present at the exchange meeting were Rajshahi Business Unity Council President Harunur Rashid, General Secretary Farid Mamud Hasan, Vice-President Riaz Uddin Ahmed, Joint General Secretary ABM Monowar Sultan, and representatives from various market associations.
