Habiganj: Three people were killed and two others injured in a collision between a bus and a pick-up van on the Dhaka-Sylhet Highway at Rokonpur in Nabiganj upazila of Habiganj district on Monday.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the deceased were identified as Mashud Ahmed, son of Sufi Mia, Abul Kashem, 50, son of Moyna Mia, and Fahim Mia, 30, all from Nabiganj upazila. The tragic accident occurred in the morning when a bus of ‘Lucky Paribahan’ collided with a vegetable-laden pick-up van. The van was heading towards Digambor Bazar in Bahubal upazila when the accident took place.
Jashim Uddin, a sub-inspector of Sherpur Police Station, reported that the collision left one person dead on the spot and four others injured. The injured individuals were transported to Sylhet MAG Osmani Medical College and Hospital. Unfortunately, two of the injured later succumbed to their injuries at the hospital.
