Dhaka: Former Chief News Editor of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS), Amirul Momenin, passed away from cancer at his Green Road residence at 3pm today. He was 75 years old.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Amirul Momenin is survived by his wife, one daughter, two sons, relatives, and many admirers and well-wishers. Throughout his career, he held multiple significant positions at BSS, contributing to the field of journalism.
His first namaz-e-janaza was conducted this afternoon at Green Road Jame Mosque. Plans have been made to transport his body to his ancestral home in Bagerhat tonight. Family sources indicate that a second namaz-e-janaza will occur after Zuhr prayers tomorrow, after which he will be interred at the family graveyard.
His passing has caused a wave of sorrow among his colleagues, journalists, and well-wishers who regard him with high esteem.
