Khulna: Anwar Aldin, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha (BSS) and Joint Editor of The Daily Ittefaq, arranged a special dua mahfil today in Khulna, seeking the recovery of former prime minister and BNP chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event featured a Quran Khatam, doa, and food distribution among orphans at Darus Sunnah Hafijia Madrasa and Orphanage. Present at the gathering were Tanvir Alam Chanchal, former co-organizing secretary of Khulna district Chhatra Dal, former student leader ASM Shahriar Hasan Babu, and local leaders of BNP and its front organizations.

Begum Khaleda Zia has been receiving treatment at Evercare Hospital in the capital since November 23 after a sudden illness. Her personal physician, Prof. Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain, mentioned that although her condition had deteriorated several times, it is currently stable.

In addition, Dr. Zubaida Rahman, her elder daughter-in-law and wife of BNP acting chairman Tarique Rahman, arrived in Dhaka from London yesterday to visit her. Concerning potential advanced treatment abroad, AZM Zahid Hossain noted that an air ambulance is ready, but the decision to move her abroad for treatment will depend solely on her physical condition.
