Rangpur: A daylong training workshop titled "Training Session on Internet and Emailing" was held at Begum Rokeya University, Rangpur (BRUR) on Tuesday to enhance the skills and capacity of students in higher education. The event was organized by the Scholarship Support Office in the virtual classroom of the Computer Science and Engineering Department of the university's Academic Building-2.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Vice-Chancellor of the University, Professor Dr. Md Showkat Ali, was present as the chief guest at the training workshop. In his speech, he emphasized the necessity of proficiency in the Internet, proper email communication, and digital information management for students to compete internationally in higher education and research. He highlighted the importance of proper guidance in obtaining scholarships for higher education, finding funding, and establishing contact with professors at foreign universities.
The event was also attended by the University's Proctor and Registrar (Acting) Professor Dr. Md Ferdous Rahman and Director of the Office of the Students' Affairs Professor Dr. Md Elias Pramanik as special guests. They addressed the significance of students' digital skills in building BRUR as a quality and international standard modern educational institution.
During the workshop, detailed discussions were held on preparations for going abroad for higher education, arranging necessary documents, searching for information related to professors and program directories, sending professional emails to professors, and various issues related to higher education scholarships or funding. Students from different departments of the university actively participated in the workshop.
