Munshiganj: Gambian midfielder Zakaria Darboe and his compatriot Assan Njie each scored twice as Brothers Union Club secured a commanding 5-0 victory over Dhaka Wanderers Club in the Bashundhara Group Bangladesh Premier League at Birshreshtha Flight Matiur Rahman Stadium.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Nigerian forward Mfon Sunday Udoh contributed with a goal, complementing the efforts of Zakaria and Assan. Brothers Union led the first half with a 3-0 advantage, demonstrating complete control from the outset. The breakthrough came in the 8th minute when Assan scored, followed by Zakaria’s goal in the 36th minute, and another by Zakaria eight minutes later.
In the second half, Diarra extended the lead by scoring the fourth goal in the 75th minute. Assan concluded the scoring spree by netting the fifth goal in the 90th minute, sealing the victory for Brothers.
This victory elevated Brothers Union Club to fourth position, accumulating 26 points from 16 matches. Dhaka Wanderers Club remained with 10 points after playing the same number of matches. In upcoming matches, Fortis Football Club will compete against Bangladesh Police Football Club, while Abahani Limited, Dhaka will face Chittagong Abahani Limited.
