Dhaka: A four-member delegation from the British Council paid a courtesy visit to the Chairman of the University Grants Commission (UGC), Prof. Dr. S.M.A. Faiz, at his office today. The meeting was marked by the presence of UGC Members Prof. Dr. Mohammad Tanzimuddin Khan and Prof. Dr. Mohammad Anwar Hossain, along with Secretary Dr. Mohammad Fakhrul Islam. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the delegation was led by Stephen Forbes, the Country Director of the British Council. The discussions centered on the Transnational Higher Education Model, emphasizing the avenues through which Bangladeshi students could gain social and financial support. The delegation also stressed the need for a policy dialogue on this significant issue. During the meeting, Stephen Forbes expressed that universities in the UK are keen to contribute to the development of higher education in Bangladesh through the Transnational Higher Education Model. In response, Dr. S.M.A. Faiz highlighted the UGC's commitment to ensuring qual ity education and expressed a desire to further fortify the relationship with the British Council to enhance the quality of higher studies in Bangladesh.
