Dhaka: BNP Senior Joint Secretary General Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi today stated that actions such as breaking graves and burning bodies contradict the teachings of Prophet Hazrat Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him-PBUH). He urged for unity and reflection on the Prophet's message of peace and harmony.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rizvi addressed these concerns at a Milad organized by the BNP to mark Eid-e-Miladunnabi at the party's central office in Nayapaltan. He expressed worry over the incidents of grave vandalism and body burning, asserting that they do not reflect the teachings of the Prophet. Rizvi highlighted an ongoing conspiracy being carried out under the banner of the "Tawhidi Janata," suggesting both international and domestic elements are involved. He compared the situation to past events, stating that such actions did not occur even during the Pakistan era, and urged for an investigation into whether a similar plot is unfolding again.
Rizvi reiterated BNP's dedication to the people of Bangladesh, declaring, "BNP is the party of the common people." He critiqued other political parties for not truly standing for Bangladesh or its citizens, while affirming BNP's commitment to the nation's culture and democratic values. Emphasizing the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH), Rizvi noted the Prophet's legacy of democracy and state spirit. He lamented that instead of embracing the Prophet's message, religion is being divided into sects and factions.
He further remarked on the Prophet's life as an embodiment of mercy, justice, and integrity. Rizvi stressed that if society internalized even a fraction of the values imparted by the Prophet, issues such as injustice, immorality, violence, and bloodshed would be eradicated.
The event was attended by BNP Joint Secretary Generals Khairul Kabir Khokon and Advocate Abdus Salam Azad, and Swechchhasebak Affairs Secretary Mir Sharafat Ali Shofu, among others. The program concluded with a prayer conducted by Maulana Selim Reza, convener of the BNP's Olama Dal.
