Dhaka: The Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) governing council has announced that the 12th edition of the tournament will kick-start on December 19, featuring five teams. Dhaka, Rangpur, Chattogram, Rajshahi, and Sylhet are the five participating teams in this year. It's the lowest number of teams participating in the BPL in its history.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the last edition saw the participation of seven teams. This edition will be held in a short window with the final on January 16. The players draft will be held on November 17.
Franchises have been allocated for each team, with Toggi Sports taking charge of Rangpur, Triangle Services managing Chattogram, Champion Sports overseeing Dhaka, Nabil Group handling Rajshahi, and Cricket with Sami representing Sylhet.
