Bagerhat: An 11-year-old boy was killed when a bus ran over him in Katakhali area under Fakirhat upazila of the district this morning. The deceased was Md. Samirul Islam, son of Md. Saiful Islam, a resident of Homna upazila in Cumilla district.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the accident took place on the Khulna-Mongla highway around 8.30 am when a Dhaka-bound bus ran over the boy while he was crossing the road. Katakhali Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md. Zafar Ahmed confirmed the incident.
Critically injured Samirul was taken to Fakirhat Upazila Health Complex where the doctor on duty declared him dead.
