BNP’s Saiful Islam Commences Election Campaign by Honoring Martyr Abu Sayeed

Rangpur: Rangpur District BNP convener and BNP party nominee for Rangpur-6 (Pirganj) constituency, Md Saiful Islam, initiated his formal election campaign by visiting the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed in Babanpur village of Pirganj upazila.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Saiful Islam paid his respects at the grave of martyr Abu Sayeed, who lost his life in police firing during the anti-discrimination students’ movement on July 16, 2024. He also took the opportunity to exchange greetings with the family members of the deceased. Present at the event were Abu Sayeed’s father, Md Mokbul Hossain, his younger brother, Md Abu Hossain, along with other family members, neighbors, and villagers.



In his remarks, Saiful Islam acknowledged the sacrifice of martyr Abu Sayeed, emphasizing his dedication to establishing a non-discriminatory and true democracy in the country. He affirmed, “We will not forget his sacrifice. We are proud that Abu Sayeed is our brave son from Pirganj upazila of Rangpur.”



Saiful Islam expressed his belief that the BNP would form the government in the upcoming parliamentary elections with the support of the people and would work towards the development of the country without discrimination. He also conveyed his gratitude to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman and other senior leaders for nominating him as a party candidate for the Rangpur-6 parliamentary constituency, stating that the party made a sound decision with his nomination.



Following his visit to Abu Sayeed’s grave, Saiful Islam conducted mass rallies in support of the ‘Sheaf of Paddy’ symbol at several locations, including Pirganj Upazila Sadar town. The rallies were attended by Pirganj Upazila BNP President Mahmudunnabi Palash, General Secretary Zakir Hossain, along with other party leaders and workers.
