Dhaka:BNP Acting Secretary General and Prime Minister's Political Adviser Advocate Ruhul Kabir Rizvi announced that party leaders and activists will serve as volunteers and guards at Durga Puja mandaps throughout the country. This initiative is in coordination with local Puja celebration committees to ensure safe and uninterrupted festivities.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Rizvi made these comments while briefing journalists following a meeting of the BNP National Standing Committee held at the party chairperson's office in Gulshan on Saturday night. The meeting, presided over by Prime Minister and BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman, began at 630 pm.
The meeting focused on ensuring that members of the Hindu community could celebrate Durga Puja safely and without disruption at mandaps nationwide, including in Dhaka. Rizvi mentioned that BNP had already established a committee to monitor Durga Puja security, led by Khayrul Kabir Khokon and Imran Saleh Prince, and issued instructions to party leaders and activists to remain vigilant about the safety of the celebrations.
Rizvi also addressed concerns about certain quarters conspiring against the country and the democratic government. He expressed confidence that the government would effectively counter these conspiracies through proper management, assuring that BNP leaders and activists would stay alert.
Additionally, the meeting discussed the party's organizational affairs and plans to expand its activities in the future.
