Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee Member Salahuddin Ahmed today announced that the party is on the verge of finalizing and announcing a single candidate for each constituency in the upcoming national parliamentary election. He made this announcement while addressing reporters at his Gulshan residence, focusing on current political issues.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Salahuddin stated that the process of selecting candidates is actively underway. He assured that a “green signal” would soon be given to the chosen candidate in each constituency, marking a significant step towards election preparedness. Salahuddin revealed that the BNP is keen on selecting candidates systematically, given that some constituencies have as many as 10 to 12 aspirants.

Salahuddin emphasized the need for candidates to commence grassroots-level work following their selection. He also mentioned plans to escalate public campaigns nationwide as part of their election strategy. Speaking on alliances, he stressed the importance of political unity and warned against raising issues that could incite new crises in the country.

He further criticized the Awami League, accusing them of showing no remorse for past actions and conspiring against the nation. Salahuddin suggested that the interim government should consider filing a case against the Awami League in the International Crimes Tribunal (ICT) Court.
