Dhaka: BNP Standing Committee Member Dr. AZM Zahid Hossain today provided a clear idea of who will receive the party’s nominations in the upcoming national parliamentary election. He stated that those who are popular among the people and who are ahead in the results of the party’s internal surveys will receive BNP nominations.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Zahid made these remarks while placing a wreath at the grave of BNP founder Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar. The event was organized by the Pharmacists Association of Bangladesh to mark World Pharmacists Day 2025.
The senior BNP leader shared that the party’s election preparations began almost a year and a half ago, with activists working at the grassroots level across the country. He assured that the party would finalize nominations very soon. Dr. Zahid emphasized that the BNP would participate in the election by overcoming domestic and foreign challenges, aiming to implement the declared 31-point programme with the people’s support.
Additionally, Dr. Zahid mentioned that BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman is expected to return to the country within a few weeks to lead the movement for the restoration of democracy, including the upcoming elections.
