Khulna: BNP-nominated candidate for Khulna-2 constituency and former MP Nazrul Islam Manju has pledged that the BNP would work towards a prosperous, peaceful, and secure Khulna by reviving the city's lost industrial heritage if elected in the forthcoming election.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Manju addressed voters during an election campaign and leaflet distribution at Khulna New Market kitchen market and nearby areas. He highlighted that Khulna, despite being a divisional city, has experienced a significant decline in its industrial base over the years.
Manju articulated the BNP's vision to restore Khulna's status as a port and industrial city, aiming to transform it into a development-centric region by reopening closed industries and factories. This initiative is particularly targeted at creating employment opportunities for the youth.
Manju underscored the importance of development in the party's agenda, noting that BNP Chairman Tarique Rahman has emphasized development as a core component of the party's political strategy with the declaration, "I have a plan." He declared that the BNP is advancing with a vision for development and would work towards establishing a self-reliant economy if given the mandate, introducing measures such as family cards for women and agriculture cards for farmers.
Additionally, Manju outlined proposed development programmes across sectors like health and education, stating that further election plans would be unveiled by party Chairman Tarique Rahman in the coming days.
