Patuakhali: BNP Training Affairs Secretary ABM Mosharraf Hossain announced today that if the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) ascends to power, it will not engage in oppression or persecution akin to what he claims has occurred under the Awami League's rule. Hossain made these remarks at a rally held at the Chakamaiya Government Primary School ground in Kalapara upazila, Patuakhali district, organized by the Chakamaiya Union Jubo Dal.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event featured Upazila BNP President Humayun Sikder as a special guest, with Jubo Dal leader Abu Zafar Howlader presiding over the gathering. Mosharraf Hossain, who is also the BNP nominee for the Patuakhali-4 (Kalapara-Rangabali) constituency in the upcoming parliamentary election, emphasized the need for development in the neglected area of Chakamaiya Union. He urged the local population to vote for the 'Sheaf of Paddy,' BNP's electoral symbol, in the national elections to facilitate genuine development.
Hossain expressed optimism about a potential BNP victory in a free and fair election, stating, "Insha'Allah BNP will come to power. And if BNP comes to power, it will not oppress or persecute anyone like the Awami League." He also called for prayers for the recovery of BNP Chairperson and former Prime Minister Begum Khaleda Zia, who is receiving treatment at a private hospital in Dhaka.
The rally also featured speeches from Upazila BNP Senior Vice-President Jafaruzzaman Khokon Howlader, General Secretary Advocate Hafizur Rahman Chunnu, Municipal BNP General Secretary Gazi Md. Faruk, Musa Tawhid Nannu Munshi, and other prominent BNP leaders and Jubo Dal members.
