Dhaka: BNP announced a programme titled “Amar Bhabonay Bangladesh-National Reel Making Competition” to mark the upcoming return of the party’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman after nearly 18 years. BNP Acting Chairman’s adviser Mahdi Amin today announced the programme at a press conference in Gulshan.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Mahdi Amin stated that the competition reflects the fundamental themes of BNP’s future politics, focusing on the country’s interests, sovereignty, and people’s expectations. The competition, which launched today, will continue until December 25, inviting participants from all walks of life to submit online their plans, expectations, and thoughts through a one-minute reel video.
Mahdi mentioned that Tarique Rahman will return to Bangladesh on December 25, which has generated significant interest and emotion among the public. He emphasized that Tarique Rahman envisions a future Bangladesh built through collective efforts, transcending political and ideological differences.
The primary objective of the competition is to engage citizens in the nation-building process, with the party aiming to incorporate the public’s ideas into its strategy as a people-oriented political entity. Eleven themes have been selected for the competition’s first phase, covering topics such as health, employment, education, environment, and corruption-free governance.
Participants can post their reels on social media platforms like Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, or TikTok, using the hashtag (Bangladesh First) and sharing the content on BNP’s officially verified Facebook event page. The evaluation process will consider public engagement for 30% of the score, with the remainder determined by a Jury Board based on creativity and social impact.
A hotline number will be provided for participant inquiries. The top 10 winners will have the opportunity for an exclusive discussion with Tarique Rahman. The event aims to showcase a commitment to building a Bangladesh where human rights, freedom of speech, the rule of law, and equal opportunities are ensured.
The announcement was attended by BNP Chairperson’s Advisory Council member Ismail Zabiullah, former World Bank official Dr. Ziauddin Haider, and Dr. Saimum Parvez, among others.
