Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party’s (BNP’s) Dhaka North City unit has initiated a significant cleanup drive at the “July 36 Expressway,” also known as the 300-feet road, in the Purbachal area of the capital. This location was used for a public address by the party’s Acting Chairman, Tarique Rahman.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the cleanup operation is a collaborative effort involving workers from the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC), BNP activists, and 300 hired cleaning staff. These teams are actively engaged in removing accumulated garbage and debris from the area.
The operation commenced this morning in front of the stage constructed for Tarique Rahman, marking his return to national politics after 17 years in exile. Aminul Haque, the convener of the Dhaka North BNP, is leading the cleanliness programme. Sixteen trucks have been hired to facilitate the swift removal of waste.
To bolster the effort, 300 cleaning personnel have been brought in from different areas of the capital. Additionally, DNCC staff are also working diligently to clear the garbage from the road. The BNP has also planned to plant new trees to replace those damaged during the large gathering for the public meeting.
