Dhaka: The Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has formed a Central Election Steering Committee for the upcoming 13th National Parliamentary Election in 2026, with Nazrul Islam Khan, a member of the party’s Standing Committee, appointed as Chairman. The party has also named Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi as the Member Secretary.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the formation of this committee was announced in a press release signed by BNP’s Senior Joint Secretary General Ruhul Kabir Rizvi. The committee is tasked with overseeing the preparations and strategies for the 2026 election.
The committee’s leadership includes Standing Committee Member Begum Selima Rahman and Vice Chairman Shamsuzzaman Dudu, both appointed as Vice Chairmen, alongside Chairperson’s Advisory Council Member Md Ismail Jabiullah, who will serve as Chief Coordinator.
The committee comprises a diverse group of members, including Advocate Muazzem Hossain Alal, Bijon Kanti Sarkar, Habib-un-Nabi Khan Sohel, Dr. Ziauddin Haider, Dr. Moudud Hossain Alamgir Pavel, and several others from various professional backgrounds and party positions.
The BNP has called upon all relevant parties to provide full support to the committee in fulfilling its responsibilities effectively.
