Mymensingh: On the occasion of Sharadiya Durga Puja, Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Dal distributed financial assistance to 60 temples under Mymensingh Kotwali Thana today. The distribution event was jointly organized by Kotwali Thana BNP and the Puja Celebration Front at the Mymensingh Press Club auditorium. The financial assistance was handed over to temple organizers by Md Roknuzzaman Sarkar, Member Secretary of BNP South District.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was attended by prominent figures including Kotwali BNP Convener Helal Ahmed, Member Secretary Ataharul Islam Bulbul, Joint Convener Yahia Hossain, and leaders from both BNP and the Puja Celebration Front. Speaking at the event, Roknuzzaman Sarkar emphasized BNP’s commitment to communal harmony and its support for all communities to ensure peaceful and festive celebrations of Durga Puja. He stated that the initiative was held on behalf of BNP’s Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

Roknuzzaman Sarkar also criticized the use of the term ‘minority,’ arguing that it politically alienates citizens. He remarked, “BNP doesn’t believe in labeling anyone as a minority. We are all Bangladeshis.” He further added that BNP leaders and activists at all levels will remain active in ensuring a joyous and peaceful celebration of Durga Puja this year.
