Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed optimism that the newly fostered understanding between the BNP and the Communist Party of China (CPC) will enhance the strategic relations between Bangladesh and China.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Fakhrul shared his hopes during a visit to the Xi’an suburb in Shanxi Province, where he led a high-level BNP delegation. The delegation was given a comprehensive tour of a model community and received a briefing on various local programs, including health services, volunteer efforts, rehabilitation for the disabled, and educational initiatives aimed at empowering the community.

The delegation also had the opportunity to visit a museum, where they observed activities related to the presentation of China’s revolutionary history and independence, shared with local children. This cultural exchange highlighted the shared historical narratives and aspirations between the two nations.

Before concluding their visit, the BNP delegation was formally bid farewell by senior officials, including the Director General of the International Department of the CPC, at the airport. In his concluding remarks, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir emphasized the significance of the visit and the strengthened ties with the CPC, noting that the relationship would be mutually beneficial for both countries.
