Rangpur: With only four days remaining until the 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) election, BNP candidate Md Shamsuzzaman Samu is vigorously campaigning for the Rangpur-3 seat. He is actively engaging in public outreach, street rallies, and yard meetings, demonstrating a strong commitment to securing a victory.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Samu is highly confident about winning the election due to the overwhelming support he has received from the public across various demographics. His campaign efforts are gaining momentum daily, as he covers 24 wards under Rangpur City Corporation and five unions of Sadar Upazila in the Rangpur-3 area. Alongside BNP leaders, activists, and supporters, Samu is making significant strides in his electioneering activities.
Throughout his campaign, Samu has participated in numerous street rallies and yard meetings, engaging with the Sanatan Hindu community, indigenous groups, and various social, sports, and religious gatherings. His efforts have encompassed dozens of mass contacts in Rangpur City Corporation's wards, addressing street rallies and yard meetings.
Samu's campaign has also extended to Mominpur, Khulia, Chandanpat, Saddyapuskorini, and Haridebpur unions of Sadar Upazila outside Rangpur city, where he has consistently engaged in mass contacts. His participation in various social, sports, cultural, and religious programs, including street rallies and yard meetings, reflects his commitment to reaching diverse community segments.
The general public, disregarding party affiliations, caste, creed, and religion, has warmly welcomed Samu's campaign efforts. A substantial turnout of party leaders, activists, and the general public has been evident at each event. People from different religious backgrounds, including Muslims, Hindus, and indigenous communities, are rallying behind Samu, endorsing him as a catalyst for the development of the long-neglected Rangpur Sadar-3 constituency.
Samu's recent campaign activities included a significant rally at Mahiganj Amtola Mour in Ward No 29 of Rangpur city, an exchange of views with motor workers at the Check Post in Ward No 17, and a courtyard meeting in the Rampura area. Earlier, he addressed a public meeting in the City Market area and participated in various events across Mominpur, Haridebpur, and Kholeya unions under Sadar Upazila.
His campaign continued with a street rally on Purbo Shalbon Mayamoyi Road in Ward No 25, followed by an election rally at Ward No 22, and engagement with the local community at the Babukha Jame Mosque. Additionally, Samu conducted courtyard meetings in Tantipara of Ward No 24 and Shahipara, further strengthening his grassroots connection.
In the afternoon, he participated in courtyard meetings at Keranirhat Residential School Ground of Ward No 10, Nazirerhat of Ward No 12, Jummapara Alhera Ground of Ward No 23, and Sheikhpara Ground of Ward No 31. His involvement extended into the night with a courtyard meeting and a night cricket tournament in Munshipara area of Ward No 18.
The campaign has generated significant interest and enthusiasm among the general public and young generations. BNP leaders and activists are conducting extensive campaigns in favor of the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol across the 24 wards of Rangpur City Corporation and five unions of Sadar Upazila, actively engaging with voters.
At an election rally, Ward No 18 BNP organizing secretary Shafiqul Islam Shafi criticized previous leadership for lack of development and expressed hope for change. He emphasized the public's desire for development, urging support for Samu and the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol.
Samu reiterated his commitment to change, highlighting his 19-point manifesto aimed at building a prosperous Rangpur. He believes that a victory for the 'Sheaf of Paddy' symbol will address the longstanding development deprivation in Rangpur-3 constituency.
Samu is competing against seven other candidates, including Jatiya Party's GM Quader, Jamaat-e-Islami's Mahabubur Rahman Belal, Islami Andolon's Amiruzzaman Piyal, Bangladesh Socialist Party's Abdul Quddus, Bangladesher Samajtantrik Dal (Marxist)'s Anwar Hossain Bablu, independent candidate Reita Rahman, and third gender independent candidate Anwara Islam Rani.
