Dhaka: Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) candidate Reza Ahmed has unofficially secured victory in the Kushtia-1 constituency during the 13th National Parliamentary Election. Ahmed emerged as the leading candidate with a total of 1,65,909 votes, surpassing his closest competitor, Bangladesh Jamaat-e-Islami candidate Md. Belal Uddin, who garnered 86,682 votes.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the election results were revealed at a formal briefing held at the Referendum and 13th Jatiya Sangsad (JS) Election 2026 Results Collection and Dissemination Centre, located at Nirbachan Bhaban in Agargaon, the capital. In the associated Referendum, 1,78,914 individuals voted ‘Yes,’ while 64,064 cast ‘No’ votes within the same constituency. The announcement marks a significant milestone in the ongoing political processes of the region.
