Bagerhat: BNP-nominated candidate for the Bagerhat-3 (Mongla-Rampal) constituency, Lion Dr. Faridul Islam, paid a visit to the shrine of Hazrat Khanjahan Ali (R.) this evening. During his visit, Dr. Faridul Islam offered prayers for the swift recovery of BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and extended his gratitude to BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman. A special prayer session was also conducted at the shrine.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Dr. Faridul Islam addressed the local leaders and activists briefly after his visit. He emphasized the BNP’s dedication to restoring democracy and safeguarding the people’s right to vote. Moreover, he called on everyone to maintain unity and collaborate to secure victory for the BNP’s electoral symbol, Sheaf of Paddy, in the forthcoming elections scheduled for February 12, 2026.
Earlier in the day, Dr. Faridul Islam was welcomed with flowers by local BNP leaders, including Fakir Tariqul Islam, the head of the shrine and former chairman of Shatgombuj Union Parishad. Dr. Faridul Islam also informed BSS that he plans to submit his nomination papers on Sunday to the assistant returning officers of Mongla and Rampal upazilas, accompanied by party leaders and activists.
