BNP Aims to Rebuild Bangladesh Amid Criticism of Awami League’s Governance

Dhaka: BNP Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced that the BNP intends to rebuild Bangladesh, which he claims has been destroyed by the Awami League government over the past 15 years. Speaking at a press conference held at the BNP Chairperson’s office in Gulshan, Fakhrul criticized the current administration for damaging the country’s economy and political structure.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, during the event, approximately 50 prominent leaders from the Hindu community joined the BNP by presenting flowers to the Secretary General. Fakhrul extended Diwali greetings, emphasizing the need for peaceful coexistence among all religious communities in Bangladesh.



Fakhrul urged law enforcement agencies to ensure the security of minority communities. He discussed the importance of uniting Bangladeshis of all backgrounds under the philosophy of Bangladeshi Nationalism, and reiterated the BNP’s commitment to establishing a non-communal Bangladesh.



Reflecting on the Vision 2030 program introduced by BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia, Fakhrul highlighted the desire for a “Rainbow State” where all citizens coexist harmoniously. He cited Zia’s statement from August 2024, emphasizing the BNP’s intention to foster a politics of unity rather than revenge.



Fakhrul also addressed the current political climate, noting that various parties are engaged in bargaining due to shared interests. He paid tribute to the martyrs of the 1971 Liberation War and the July Uprising, acknowledging their sacrifices for the country’s independence.
