Chapainawabganj: BNP Chairperson’s Adviser Professor Md Shahjahan Miah today emphasized that the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP) has consistently promoted communal harmony and will persist in doing so. He articulated a vision for a harmonious and democratic Bangladesh under the leadership of BNP Acting Chairman Tarique Rahman.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, Shahjahan Miah shared his thoughts while visiting various Puja mandaps in the Chapainawabganj-1 (Shibganj) municipal area. He emphasized the importance of unity among people of all faiths-Hindu, Muslim, Buddhist, and Christian-in building the future of Bangladesh. He highlighted that while religions may differ, the nation’s identity remains singular and inclusive.

Miah stressed that identifying as Hindu, Muslim, or Christian should not overshadow the broader national identity. ‘Our real identity is we are all Bangladeshi, where there is no religious wall, no division,’ he declared. He pledged that all negative forces would be overcome through the collective efforts of the BNP, its affiliated organizations, and democracy-loving citizens.

During his temple visits for the Sharadiya Durga Puja, Shahjahan Miah engaged with devotees of Sanatan Dharma, exchanging greetings and reinforcing the message of unity.
