Rangpur: Rangpur district unit leaders of the Bangladesh Nationalist Lawyers' Forum (BNLF) have raised serious allegations against the International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON), accusing it of trying to destabilize Bangladesh. They have called for an immediate ban on what they termed a 'terrorist organization'. According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the BNLF also demanded the immediate arrest of individuals involved in the murder of Chittagong Judge Court lawyer Advocate Saiful Islam Alif. They further insisted on exemplary punishment for Sanatan Jagaran Jote spokesperson Chinmoy Krishna Das Brahmachari, who faces charges of sedition. The demands were voiced during a protest organized by the Rangpur unit of BNLF at the Rangpur Ainjibi Samity premises. The event, part of a central program, was chaired by Advocate Ekramul Haque, President of the Rangpur unit of BNLF. Notable speakers included Advocate Md Aftab Uddin, Advocate Bayezid Osmani, Advocate Shafi Kamal, Advocate Rezeka Sultana Fenc y, and Advocate Kawsar Ali. The BNLF leaders accused ISKCON of being aligned with the ousted Awami League government and attempting to create chaos across the nation, allegedly serving Indian interests. They labeled ISKCON as a Hindu extremist organization, claiming its members were involved in a violent attack at the Chattogram court, during which lawyer Saiful Islam Alif was killed. They alleged that members of the Awami League's Chhatra League and Jubo League also participated in the attack, contributing to the disorder at the court premises. The BNLF urged Hindus to dissociate from ISKCON and join efforts to build a harmonious and prosperous Bangladesh, asserting that Hindus have always been and will continue to be safe in the country. The speakers emphasized that Bangladesh is a homeland for people of all religions, including Hindus, Buddhists, Christians, and Muslims. They expressed concerns over the rise in anti-Bangladesh propaganda and conspiracies since the fall of the former Prime Minister Sheik h Hasina, suggesting that ISKCON is part of these destabilizing efforts. The BNLF reiterated their demand for a ban on ISKCON, labeling it as a radical and militant organization, and called for a speedy trial to bring justice for the death of Advocate Saiful Islam Alif.
