BMDA’s 86th Board Meeting Held in Rajshahi

Rajshahi: The 86th meeting of the Board of Directors of the Barind Multipurpose Development Authority (BMDA) took place today in the BMDA board room, organized by the Barind Multipurpose Development Authority in Rajshahi. The meeting was chaired by Hasan Jafir Tuhin, Chairman of the BMDA.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the meeting was attended by Mr. Md. Firoz Ahmed, Joint Secretary of the Cabinet Division, Arman Hayder, Joint Secretary of the Ministry of Fisheries and Livestock, Jasim Uddin, Joint Secretary (Inputs) of the Ministry of Agriculture, Kazi Shahidul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Rajshahi, and Rafiqul Islam, Deputy Commissioner of Dinajpur. Other board members, including Naimul Hasan, Superintendent of Police in Rajshahi, and Jedan Al Musa, Superintendent of Police in Dinajpur, were also present. Abu Sayeed Kamruzzaman, Executive Director and Member-Secretary of BMDA, joined the meeting with all other board members of the BMDA.



The board members expressed their full confidence in the systematic and efficient leadership of the BMDA. They conveyed hope that under this leadership, BMDA will play a more effective role in enhancing the fortunes of ordinary farmers in North Bengal. Various development issues of the Barind Multipurpose Development Authority were discussed, and decisions were taken at the meeting.



Meeting sources indicated that the contributions of the BMDA have been multifaceted, leading to significant advancements in agricultural productivity, water resource management, and overall socio-economic development. The BMDA has significantly contributed to socio-economic growth in 135 upazilas across all 16 districts in the Rajshahi and Rangpur divisions through various initiatives, primarily focusing on agricultural development and water resource management.
