Rangpur: Like every year, Rangpur Shahittya-Sangskriti Parishad (RSSP), a literary and cultural organization, distributed quality blankets among more than 100 cold-stricken poor and destitute people on Tuesday. The event took place in the courtyard of RSSP Vice President Sunil Sarkar in Kharuabadha village of Mominpur Union in Sadar Upazila of the district, providing much-needed relief to the community.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the blankets were distributed to cold-stricken, distressed, and helpless men, women, and children at the organized function. Present at the event were several prominent members of RSSP, including advisers Professor Abdus Sobhan, Anwarul Islam Raju, and Advocate Masum Hasan. Former presidents Professor Mohammad Shah Alam and Swattik Shah Al Maruf also attended, alongside incumbent president Dr. Nasima Akter, Vice-president Sunil Sarker, General Secretary Mamun Ur Rashid, Finance Secretary Mahmuda Chowdhury, Organizing Secretary Dilip Kumar Roy, Literary Secretary Afzal Hossain, and Member Abdul Jabbar.
Former Chairman of Mominpur Union Parishad Mahbub Alam Chowdhury and other local dignitaries were also present at the event. Speaking at the function, RSSP President Dr. Nasima Akter urged wealthy individuals, socio-cultural, charitable, and voluntary organizations, as well as professional and commercial entities, to support the cold-stricken population and alleviate their suffering.
The initiative by RSSP received high praise from the local community for its timely and compassionate response to the needs of the cold-affected people.
