Dhaka: Mobile financial services provider bKash was honoured with the 'Excellence in Investment Award-2025' today for its significant contribution to the country's economy by attracting foreign direct investment. Chief Adviser Professor Muhammad Yunus handed over the award to bKash founder and CEO Kamal Quadir at the Bangladesh Investment Summit 2025 held at a hotel in the city.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the award was presented by the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) in recognition of bKash's continuous efforts in sustainable growth, employment generation, innovation, and financial inclusion. The event was graced by the presence of BIDA Executive Chairman Ashik Chowdhury and Chief Adviser's Special Envoy on International Affairs Lutfey Siddiqi.
bKash operates as a payment service provider offering a broad range of digital financial services under the regulation of Bangladesh Bank since 2011. It is a joint venture of BRAC Bank, US-based Money in Motion LLC, International Finance Corporation (IFC) of the World Bank Group, Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, China's Alibaba Group's Ant International, and Japan's SoftBank Vision Fund.
