Bismillah Enterprise Fined Tk. 45,000 for Overpricing Gas

Chattogram: A mobile court today imposed a fine of Taka 45,000 on a gas seller for selling gas at inflated prices in the Karnaphuli area of the city. The action was taken to curb the practice of overpricing in the region.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was carried out in Fakinnirhat, College Bazar, Shineertek, and Mojjartek areas of Karnaphuli on Monday afternoon. The court, led by Assistant Commissioner (Land) Md. Al Amin Hossain, ordered the fine against Messrs. Bismillah Enterprises for charging higher than the government-mandated price for gas.



The operation received full cooperation from the Karnaphuli police. The assistant commissioner stated that all gas retailers in the area have been instructed to comply with the government pricing. To ensure adherence, similar operations will be conducted regularly.
