Sylhet: A Biman Bangladesh Airlines flight was cancelled after a boarding bridge collided with the aircraft’s engine at Sylhet airport, leading to operational disruptions.
According to United News of Bangladesh, the incident has raised concerns over airport safety protocols and operational efficiency. The Civil Aviation and Tourism Minister, Afroza Khanam, has been actively directing airport authorities to implement immediate measures to enhance safety and cleanliness standards at airports nationwide.
During a recent meeting on the Revised Annual Development Programme’s implementation progress for January of the 2025-26 fiscal year, Minister Khanam emphasized the importance of mosquito control and cleanliness at airports. Meanwhile, State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism, M Rashiduzzaman Millat, highlighted the urgent need to address the trolley shortage at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport, advocating for the procurement of 1,000 new trolleys to improve passenger services. Millat urged for coordinated efforts among all agencies to ensure seamless travel experiences for passengers without any form of harassment.
