Dhaka: With the aim of fostering a book-reading culture in society, the Bangladesh Publishers and Book-sellers Association (BAPUS) has planned to organize the ‘Bijoy Book Fair 2025’ for the first time. The 12-day book fair will be held on the Bangla Academy premises from December 10. The organizers shared the information at a press conference held this morning at the Al-Mahmud Lekhok Corner of Bangla Academy.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, BAPUS Director Abul Bashar Firoz Sheikh stated, ‘We will try to hold this fair every year from now on, making it a prestigious addition to our national cultural tradition.’ The fair is expected to become a prominent event connected to national life, featuring participation from around 200 publishers, thousands of readers, special events for children and teenagers, documentaries on the Liberation War, and a variety of book-centered social festivities.

BAPUS also plans to expand the fair nationwide from next year, with book fairs to be organized in all 64 districts, as well as in various schools, colleges, and universities starting from 2026.
