Dhaka: The newly designed website of the Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) was officially launched today. Officials stated that this platform is set to play an important role in enhancing the investment infrastructure of Bangladesh and aims to attract more investors to the country.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the new platform places special emphasis on the potential investment sectors identified in BIDA's Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) heatmap. It offers updated services for investors, policy guidelines, and information on designated focal points of various ministries and investment-related organizations. Additionally, BIDA's logo has been redesigned, as indicated in a handout.
BIDA Executive Chairman, Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun, remarked that the previous website functioned like a general government portal, lacking in providing active investment assistance. He emphasized that the new platform aligns with BIDA's commitment to an investor-friendly service model focused on transparency and strategic engagement. Through the revamped website, investors and stakeholders are given a clearer understanding of BIDA's dedication to creating an investment-friendly environment in Bangladesh.
Nahian Rahman Rochi, Head of Business Development at BIDA, highlighted that international investors often evaluate potential investment sectors based on information available on a country's investment agency websites before making decisions. Rochi stressed the importance of these platforms in providing investment-related information, responding to investors' inquiries, and showcasing the country's competitive advantages. He noted that BIDA's new website is designed with the different stages of investors' journeys in mind, allowing them to explore opportunities, assess market potentials, and connect with the right resources for successful investment realization.
