Dhaka: The Bangladesh Investment Development Authority (BIDA) has launched a day care service at its headquarters, Biniyog Bhaban, aimed at providing childcare support for the children of its officials and employees. This initiative is part of BIDA's broader commitment to institutional excellence.

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the day care service is available to parents working at BIDA as well as other offices located within the premises. A formal agreement was signed today with Little Ducklings, a branch of the Dhaka Ahsania Mission, to manage the day care center.

BIDA Executive Chairman Chowdhury Ashik Mahmud Bin Harun highlighted that the Dhaka Ahsania Mission has a longstanding commitment to social welfare. He emphasized that the introduction of Little Ducklings will ensure professional childcare services, which will contribute to a women-friendly and family-oriented office culture. This initiative is particularly beneficial for working mothers and aims to strengthen BIDA's commitment to humane values.

The fee structure for the day care service has been designed to be affordable, with subsidized rates for lower-income employees. This ensures that all parents can work with peace of mind, knowing their children are in a safe, nurturing, and educational environment.

The BIDA Day Care Centre was initially launched in November 2024 under the supervision of BIDA's Administration Wing. With Little Ducklings now onboard, the center is transitioning to a fully professional model. The facility will include a full-time superintendent or teacher, trained caregivers, early childhood learning opportunities, and a secure, hygienic environment to ensure comprehensive care.

Currently, the center has around 10 to 11 children enrolled, including those of officials from BIDA, the Bangladesh Economic Zones Authority (BEZA), and the National Skills Development Authority (NSDA). To standardize service delivery, BIDA has developed the 'BIDA Day Care Centre Guideline 2024', outlining service design, quality standards, and management protocols.
