BGMEA Holds Special Prayer for Khaleda Zia’s Recovery

Dhaka: A special prayer was offered at the Uttara office of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) today seeking the early recovery of Begum Khaleda Zia, the three-time former Prime Minister and Chairperson of the Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP).

According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the event was attended by BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan, former President Kazi Moniruzzaman, Senior Vice-President Inamul Haq Khan, Vice-President Md. Rezowan Selim, Vice-President (Finance) Mizanur Rahman, Vice-President Md. Shihab Uddowza Chowdhury, members of the current Board of Directors, former directors, as well as chairmen and co-chairmen of various standing committees. The BGMEA press release stated that the gathering was held in honor of Begum Khaleda Zia's contributions to the country's democratic journey.

BGMEA President Mahmud Hasan Khan, former President Kazi Moniruzzaman, and Director Dr. Rashid Ahmed Hossaini spoke briefly, recalling Begum Khaleda Zia's significant contributions with respect. A special munajat was offered for her good health and quick recovery, led by Dr. Rashid Ahmed Hossaini.

Additionally, the gathering offered prayers for the eternal peace of the late Annisul Huq, former BGMEA President and former Mayor of Dhaka North City Corporation, marking his death anniversary observed on the same day.
