BGMEA and BKMEA Leaders Meet Prime Minister Tarique Rahman

Dhaka: Leaders of the Bangladesh Garment Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BGMEA) and the Bangladesh Knitwear Manufacturers and Exporters Association (BKMEA) today paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Tarique Rahman. The meeting took place at the Prime Minister’s Cabinet Division office in the Bangladesh Secretariat this afternoon, as reported by PM’s Deputy Press Secretary Jahidul Islam Rony.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the discussions between the business leaders and the Prime Minister focused on the current state and future possibilities of the ready-made garments and knitwear industries in Bangladesh. These sectors are vital contributors to the national economy, and the talks also covered various aspects of enhancing the country’s export trade.



Key government officials, including Industries Minister Khandaker Abdul Muktadir, Education Minister ANM Ehsanul Hoque Milon, Prime Minister’s Adviser and PMO Spokesperson Mahdi Amin, and Prime Minister’s Principal Secretary ABM Abdus Sattar, were present at the meeting. The engagement underscored the government’s interest in supporting the pivotal garment and knitwear sectors, which play a crucial role in Bangladesh’s economic landscape.
