BGB Seizes Indian Sarees Worth Tk 31.35 Lakh in Sunamganj

Sunamganj: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized 330 pieces of Indian sarees worth Tk 36.35 lakh during a drive at the Malaigaon border in Sadar upazila of Sunamganj district this morning. Captain A.K.M. Zakaria Kadir, commander of Sunamganj-28 BGB Battalion, confirmed the seizure.



According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, acting on a tip-off, members of the BGB’s Chinaura Border Outpost (BOP) conducted the raid and recovered the sarees. The operation was carried out successfully, ensuring that the sarees did not enter the local markets illegally.



The seized Indian sarees will be handed over to the Sunamganj Customs Office, Captain Zakaria added. The authorities are committed to curbing the smuggling activities along the border areas, and this seizure marks another step towards achieving that goal.
