Sylhet: Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) seized goods worth Tk 2.5 crore from the Sylhet and Sunamganj borders last night.
According to Bangladesh Sangbad Sangstha, the operation was conducted based on a tip-off, leading BGB to carry out raids in multiple border areas including Bichanakadi, Shonarhat, Panthumai, Songgram, Banglabazar, Sreepur, Protappur, Utma, and Lafars on Tuesday night.
The recovered items comprised sunglasses, cows, sharees, chocolates, sugar, cosmetics, and fast-food items. A press notification, signed by Lt. Col. Najmul Haque of Sylhet BGB (48) battalion, detailed the successful confiscation of these goods.
BGB continues its efforts to curb smuggling activities and enhance border security, ensuring the integrity and safety of the region.
