BGB seizes gold bars worth Tk 2.6 crore from Benapole

Members of Border Guard Bangladesh on Tuesday seized six gold bars worth Tk 2.6 crore at Daulatpur border area in Benapole.

 

Lt. Col. Tanvir Rahman, commander of the Khulna BGB-21 battalion, said they launched a drive being tipped-off that a man was smuggling the gold bars to India through the border.

 

Smuggled drugs, other goods worth over Tk 1,565 cr seized in 2022: BGB

 

The smuggler fled to India crossing the Ichamati River leaving behind the gold bars, said the BGB official.
